About the Patriots...

The St. Louis Patriots Baseball team was founded in 2006 by two dedicated coaches and fathers: Mike Petzold and Tom McKnight. Mike and Tom recognized that competitive, high school, varsity level sports opportunities are not readily available to all homeschool students. A lifelong love of baseball and a willingness to accept the challenge lead them to the founding of the Patriots.

That first year, the team played just two games. Today, the program has grown to include a full schedule consisting primarily of teams from St. Louis area Christian high schools and national tournaments with other homeschool teams. Additionally, the Patriots have expand to include a JV Red team, JV Blue team, as well as a team for middle school aged boys.

The Patriots welcome all homeschooled young men with a love of baseball to attend tryouts for Varsity, JV Red, JV Blue, and Middle School teams, usually held in the spring and fall. Like most all teams, the Patriots have to limit the number of roster players. However, unlike most teams, we welcome non-roster players to attend practices to share in the opportunity to learn, grow and develop as players and young, Christian men
